The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe special WerewolfByNight has now been reclassified as 'horror' on Disney+. Originally (and confusingly), the streaming service had listed the special as a 'comedy'.

Marvel's upcoming Werewolf by Night special has been reclassified on Disney+. It will be the first television special set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming out later in December, before James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 next year.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Laura Donnelly, and Harriet Sansom Harris, Werewolf by Night will be the first time the Marvel Cinematic Universe fully delves into the sphere of horror. While there were previous "scary" films set in the Marvel Universe, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and a few supernatural elements in Moon Knight, the MCU hasn't given a full-fledged horror movie.

What's Werewolf By Night's Place In The MCU? As mentioned above, Werewolf by Night will be the first exploration in the MCU's horror-driven side. While it still isn't clear if the character will appear in future MCU titles, it has been revealed that Man-Thing will be making an appearance in the special, alongside Elsa Bloodstone , who are two highly-known characters in the Marvel universe.

It's been rumored that Man-Thing will have a major presence in future Marvel titles, and the special looks to be setting up a more supernatural side of the MCU. It's also been long rumored that Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and the upcoming Blade will be setting up Midnight Sons, but this crossover project hasn't been announced by Marvel. Time will tell what Werewolf By Night's place will be in the MCU when the special releases on Disney+ October 7.
