Martha Stewart says she’s on a “rampage” to get Americans back to the office.
“Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?” Stewart asked“You can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely.”
What are the actual stakes here, according to Martha? What would happen if Americans still worked five days a week, but during two of them, worked from home? Why, we’d be France! And according to Martha, France is “not a very thriving country.” I don’t want to speak for France, but they’re fine? Like, thanks Martha, but France gave you an entire decorating style that carried you through the ’90s? All those french doors and good linen and hydrangeas? Chicken fricassée! Lay off France a little, Martha. France is good.
Weirdly, she also made a case for working from home recently. Asked about retirement or taking a break, she“There’s no reason to retire. I can write sitting down, I can dictate lying down if I have to. I can do any number of things in different places in different ways.”
