“We just found out this morning, and we’re trying to process it.”
ANTIOCH — Red and blue balloons, tied to a tree, rippled in the breeze, while roses and other flowers laid on the ground, along with empty bottles and a religious candle, which sat unlit.
“We just found out this morning, and we’re trying to process it,” Antioch resident Tommy Jenkins said. “The crazy part is, I live just over the hill, and when I heard all the sirens, I came to see and I heard that there was a young guy involved who I used to coach in football. But I had no idea the other two people were family members. We just found that out.”
Authorities confirmed those identities and said 28-year-old Brandon Compton, also of Antioch, was the third person to die. Compton was driving the vehicle, according to authorities.
