New photos from the set of Barbie show Margot Robbie looking sad as the movie's titular character. Based on the popular Mattel toy of the same name, Barbie is directed by Oscar-nominee Greta Gerwig from a script written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach. The film, which is expected to release in 2023, was reported to be in development as far back as 2014, but it was only recently that production on the project got underway when Warner Bros. took over production duties from Sony.
