Set in 1846, Grande’s historical saga follows a Mexican Army nurse and a disheartened Irish soldier during the Mexican-American War.Publishers WeeklyGrande is the author of a bestselling 2012 memoir, “The Distance Between Us,” about a childhood torn between Mexico and California. In 2018, she published “A Dream Called Home,” a sequel. She also has written two previous novels, “Across A Hundred Mountains” and “Dancing with Butterflies.” Grande lives in Woodland, Calif. with her family.
