The twisty series' most obvious television analogue is the massively popular supernatural mystery series Lost, which also featured an incident with an airplane drawing a disparate group of people into an unknown and perilous situation.
Manifest has a lot of precedent to beat in order to present a solid ending. However, one element is working in the show's favor.
