A man was injured in a shooting Thursday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Just before 7:25 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 3600 block of Foothill Boulevard in the city’s Fruitvale neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening injury after at least one gunshot wound, and called for paramedics. The man was taken to a hospital and later listed in grave condition. Investigators said they believed the man was shot during a confrontation with a gunman who fled the scene before officers’ arrival. No one was in custody in connection with the shooting late Thursday, and investigators did not release a suspect or associated vehicle description.
In the shooting, police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
