An investigation is underway after a man was shot as he clung to the outside of his car during a carjacking in the Northgate neighborhood.
SEATTLE — An investigation is underway after a man was shot as he clung to the outside of his car during a carjacking in the Northgate neighborhood Wednesday evening, according to Seattle police.
At 7:40 p.m., officers were called to reports of a man firing a rifle near Eighth Avenue Northeast and Northeast Northgate Way.Police said the man had gunshot wounds to his arm and buttocks. The man told officers he was in his car in the 11000 block of Eighth Avenue Northeast when several suspects approached and took his car at gunpoint.
The victim said he was shot as he clung to his car as the carjackers drove away. The suspects then abandoned the car, and the victim got back in and drove to a nearby business for help.Officers spoke with witnesses and collected evidence at the scene.Police are responding to a shooting near 8th Avenue NE and NE Northgate Way. One victim reported with a gunshot wound to the arm. Possibly injured during a carjacking. More info when available.
