At a ceremony Wednesday, first responders got the opportunity to reunite with a Hilton employee after rescuing him from a commercial sheet folding machine a few months ago.
The C-shift crews from Ladder 1, Engine 13 and Rescue 14 responded. Along with Austin-Travis County EMS medics, they worked to make a gap large enough to insert airbags so Gregory could safely pull his hand out.
Because of the swift work of our crews in conjunction with ATCEMS, Mr. Gregory is on the road to a full recovery after an incident that could have been so much worse. Special thanks to the management at the Hilton for inviting us so that we could be there to honor and celebrate him!
