The shooting happened in the 1300 block of Chartres, a street that runs parallel to Interstate 69, near Discovery Green and Shell Energy Stadium. Police said the man was riding a bicycle south when he got into an"altercation" with another person and was shot. The man was lying in the street when officers arrived.
No arrests have been announced. Police said they were looking for surveillance cameras that may have recorded the shooting.
