UPDATE: The eastbound lanes of I-70 coming into the Denver metro have reopened after they were closed for hours due to a fatal crash near Golden
The person killed in a fatal crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Golden on Thursday morning was fleeing a Colorado State Patrol traffic stop, authorities said.According to a CSP news release, a trooper saw a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Colorado 470 toward I-70 at about 1:50 a.m.
The trooper then used a stun gun on the man to keep him from driving off, according to the state patrol.
