The man involved in a fight that escalated into a fatal shooting at a Tesla electric vehicle charging station in west metro Denver has been released and no charges have been filed, police said Thursday.
A 33-year-old man who drove a Tesla was shot around 9:40 a.m. in one of the six or so Tesla charging stations at the parking lot of the Edgewater Public Market, in the 5500 block of West 20th Avenue in Edgewater. He died less than an hour later after he was taken to a hospital.
The other man, who left the scene, later called 911 to report his involvement in the fight. He was detained and questioned at his residence in Denver. Edgewater Police Sgt. Bob Brink on Thursday said the man was released. “He did call and said he was involved. He was detained. He was released. We are continuing the investigation,” Brink said. “We do not have conclusions on anything.”
