Victor Mosmeyer was on his way home from his own birthday party in June 2021 when he struck a man who was putting gas in his car.
Victor Mosmeyer was found guilty for hitting 49-year-old Shane Fewell with his vehicle and fleeing the scene in June 2021.A driver has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for hitting a Canyon Lake man as he was putting gas in his vehicle on the side of the road.
Victor Mosmeyer, 60, of Elmendorf was found guilty of failing to stop and render aid resulting in death after his vehicle, the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release. Mosmeyer was on his way home from his own birthday party on June 6, 2021, when he hit Fewell on Priest Road in Southeast Bexar County, according to past reports.
Fewell was parked on the side of the road and had stepped out to retrieve a gas can from a utility trailer. The impact severed his aorta and he died within minutes, the DA’s office said. Mosmeyer never called 911 and left the scene. “Mr. Fewell’s death could have been avoided. As a community, it’s our responsibility to think of others’ safety,” Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales said in a statement Friday.
