Sheriff’s deputies were investigating after a man was found fatally shot in an east Harris County apartment after his family hadn’t heard from him in several days, officials said.
Investigators around 9:45 p.m. found a man lying dead in his apartment near the intersection of Grand Oaks and Woodforest boulevards while responding to a call from a family member, Sgt. Greg Pinkins, of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, told Metro Video Services reporters. He had an apparent gunshot wound.Family members told deputies they forced their way into the apartment after not hearing from him in several days, officials said.
Deputies had responded to the area on Saturday after someone called about shots fired, but hadn’t found anything at the time. It wasn’t immediately clear why someone might have shot the man.
