Authorities beiieve the victim could have been struck by a vehicle between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
A man found dead Wednesday morning on Alum Rock Avenue in unincorporated Santa Clara County was believed to be killed in a hit-and-run incident, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities were alerted at 6:55 a.m. by people taking a morning walk about a person thought to be experiencing a medical emergency on Alum Rock Avenue, near Kirk Avenue in the foothills east of San Jose city limits. Officers determined upon arrival that the man was deceased, and had been dead since late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, CHP Public Information Officer Ross Lee said.
Evidence discovered by the CHP led the agency to believe the man was struck and killed by a vehicle. The incident is being investigated as a hit and run and CHP was searching for a suspect, Lee said.Lee described the man as a 46-year old of Hispanic descent.This is a developing story.
