Authorities in Newark are investigating the death of a Newark man who was struck by a vehicle early Sunday.
Laquan Lamar Jones, 49, died at the scene of the crash in the 600 block of Springfield Avenue at about 2:15 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police said in a joint statement. A vehicle struck Jones at about 1:55 a.m. The authorities did not reveal any details about the crash or the vehicle that hit Jones, but said no arrests had been made as of Sunday night.
