San Antonio police investigate the scene where they say a man and teen stopped after they were shot at while driving a stolen vehicle Monday night, May 15, 2023, in the 500 block of South Acme Road.A man is in critical condition after he and a teenage passenger were wounded in a shooting on the West Side while driving a stolen vehicle, San Antonio police said.
The driver, in his 20s, was hit twice in the back about 11 p.m. at a convenience store in the 2400 block of Castroville Road, police said. A teenage boy sitting in the passenger seat was hit in the arm. After the shooting, they drove away and stopped in the 500 block of South Acme Road, police said. The teen ran into an apartment, and the driver who was shot was still in the vehicle when first responders arrived.
The driver was taken in critical condition to University Hospital. The teen was taken there as well for treatment.
