GLENDALE, AZ — One suspect has died and a Glendale police officer was injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon near 59th and Olive avenues.
According to Glendale police, officers were called out to the area around 2 a.m. for a domestic violence situation. The male suspect was eventually found inside an RV at the home armed with a gun and a barricade situation as well as negotiations began, according to police. Police say after hours of negotiations, later in the afternoon, the suspect was seen holding a gun to his head. At that time a police K-9 was deployed to try to take the man into custody.A SWAT officer returned fire and the suspect was shot and killed.
Police say the officer shot was taken to the hospital and has since been released. The K-9 deployed was not injured.
