Zackrey Gage Newman, 31, was taken to a hospital to be treated for his gunshot wound. He was later booked into the Utah County jail, where he is being held without bail.
Zackrey Gage Newman, 31, was charged in 4th District Court with two counts of assault against a peace officer, second-degree felonies; two counts of discharge of a firearm, third-degree felonies; and one count of domestic violence assault and two counts of commission of domestic violence in the presence of a minor, class B misdemeanors., and he slapped her two or three times.
Police officers surrounded the apartment and ordered Newman to come out with his hands up. He refused and, according to police, said, “One of us is going to die tonight”; “I am not going to jail”; “If I come up there, one of us is going to die”; and “Are we all shooting now? I have tons of ammunition.”
