After starting left tackle Jerald Hawkins went down in Week 3, Ferland moved from right guard over to left tackle.

“I think they’ve got an outstanding coach in Anthony Vitale and I think he just gets them in the right mindset, next man up and let’s do what we do no matter who is out there,” said Riders’ head coach Craig Dickenson.
