Lindsay Lohan responds to Jamie Lee Curtis' pitch to make Freaky Friday 2: 'We would both be into it. I'm not gonna say no to Disney!'

Lindsay Lohan responds to Jamie Lee Curtis' recent pitch for a Freaky Friday 2, confirming her interest to return for a sequel. Released in 2003, Freaky Friday centers around Curtis and Lohan's characters, Tess and Anna, a mother and daughter duo with a somewhat strained relationship who, after switching bodies in a freak occurrence, are suddenly forced to live each other's lives.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, Lohan has reignited hopes for a Freaky Friday 2 with her recent comments on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The star was asked about her thoughts on Curtis' recent discussions of a Freaky Friday 2, to which Lohan gave an incredibly positive response.

We did speak about it, yeah. First of all, let’s just take the fact that I was on set filming at the time and Jamie Lee Curtis writes you and you just get excited and distracted immediately, so I had to bring myself down to earth and be like "OK I’m on set I have to focus." And then she said Freaky Friday 2 and I got more excited. We would both be into it.

Should a Freaky Friday 2 get green lit by Disney, it's also likely that audiences would be keen to revisit one of Freaky Friday's most iconic scenes in which Curtis' shreds an epic guitar solo during an onstage performance. The beloved scene was made even more brilliant by the confirmation that Curtis actually played the guitar during filming, meaning a follow-up to this scene would be an easy and perfect call-back to the first movie.

Freaky Friday 2 Is Not The Only '00s Sequel Lohan Is Keen To Make Lohan's comments are likely to spark major anticipation for this long-awaited sequel, and her eagerness to return is certainly evident. With Lohan currently in the midst of her exciting return to acting with the release of her new Netflix film Falling for Christmas, the star has also previously expressed an interest in returning for Mean Girls 2, though no official plans for this have been confirmed.
