Kellee Holmes, 41, has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm in connection to her husband’s death, police said.
Police said they were alerted to the shooting by a woman who called from the residence, and who described the incident as an accidental shooting. Officers responded and found Charles Holmes in the garage.
Kellee Holmes appeared in court the following day and was released on her own recognizance. The reckless discharge count is a class 4 felony, punishable upon conviction by a one- to three-year prison term. Lesser penalties like probation or county jail time are also options.
