Lin-Manuel Miranda has shared that he will not be attending the 2022 Oscars due to his wife testing positive for COVID-19. The 2022 Academy Awards are set to be held on March 27, 2022. Miranda has worked on two films that are in the running for Oscars - Encanto and Tick, Tick... Boom! Tick, Tick... Boom! marked Miranda's feature directorial debut and resulted in a Best Actor nomination for Andrew Garfield, as well as a nomination for Best Film Editing.
