Russell Township police and fire fighters responded to storm damage calls August 23. A Kinsman Road resident reported 10 p.m. that the house was struck by lightning and there was smoke inside the home. Officers assisted the fire department crew. At 10:18 p.m. a motorist called in flooding on Caves Road near Sunrise Lane from the heavy rainstorm. Road closed signs were placed to block the flooded street.
After lightning struck a home 10 p.m. Aug. 24, a resident called emergency dispatch. He said there was smoke inside the home. Police responded and assisted fire fighters. Further details were not available in the initial report.A motorist called police 10:18 p.m. Aug. 24 to report floodwater across the road near Sunrise Lane. The fire department was notified and closed the road until the water receded.
