It’s ironic that an industry so keen on belittling the hand that feeds it also doesn’t realize it makes a dangerous product. It was gasoline, not sunlight stored in batteries, that took down the I-95 bridge. Something is wrong when we tolerate school funding delays and foster care scandals while questioning whether an Alzheimer’s drug of uncertain and minor effectiveness will be Medicare-covered. A country that seeks to endure rather than decline must focus upon its producers — those citizens between the ages of 25 and 65.
