McCaa’s column on remembering our veterans on Memorial Day and beyond was superb — it simply could not be improved upon.
I hope people stopped and took the time to read McCaa’s column. They pay homage to our veterans by doing so, and by remembering.Re: “Culture issues dominate new laws — GOP members defend hot-button bills; Dems say opportunities lost,” Tuesday news story. The grieving Uvalde parents and their supporters asked only that the age be raised to 21 to own a semi-automatic weapon. Rep. Ryan Guillen, R-Rio Grande City, would not bring the bill to a vote until compelled by the horrific Allen shooting. Then the bill died without a vote on the House floor.
Will there be a trial under the rules of the state? Notably, we know where the junior Senator for Texas stands — he opposes any trial for a fellow conservative Republican! Nonetheless, who is surprised this senator still supports a Trump win in 2020?Mesquite does elections right
