East Bay Times Letters to the Editor for May 30, 2023
As one who witnessed the Oakland Hills Fire, for me wildfires can never be an abstraction. From our orchestra-seats deck, we watched aircraft crisscrossing above us, trailing gouts of water, making desperate lace patterns against the smokey sky, and all the while TV news channels were flashing the header “Orinda Threatened.”
As a co-leader of Orinda’s incorporation, I sought to empower our community, not endanger it. Just as with incorporation, Orinda is once again being threatened with forfeiting to the political agenda of a more powerful government entity.BART tube will do morethan serve S.F. ridersBART serves more than riders going or at this point in time not going to San Francisco to work. It also serves the north Peninsula and importantly San Francisco International Airport and as a connection to Caltrain.
