A Lake Zurich letter to the editor: Community college boards play a crucial role in maintaining the success of students and the college as a whole.

Community college boards play a crucial role in maintaining the success of students and the college as a whole. Therefore, it is perplexing why the Daily Herald chose to endorse College of Lake County board of trustees incumbent Robert Tomei, who has proved to be a rather divisive member during his term.

He chose not to support the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff by opposing masking and COVID vaccinations. He has never attended a state or national community college meeting, or any trustee education forums.
