In their report on the Summit, the G7 leaders denounce Russia’s nuclear rhetoric, commit themselves to North Korea’s abandonment of its nuclear weapons and repeat that Iran must never develop nuclear weapons. Nowhere does one read that Prime Minister Trudeau fell on his knees and asked for forgiveness for Canada having refined the uranium used to bomb Hiroshima. Nor did any leader say they were going to sign the TPNW.Article contentApparently, the G7 don’t realize that more weapons will bring us closer to a nuclear catastrophe. What’s needed are negotiations, but this seems to be a forgotten art. It’s so much easier to kill.

Letter: Utah needs bipartisan energy permitting reformI read with interest that insurance companies in Summit and Wasatch counties are now considering wildfire risk when setting homeowners insurance rates or even offering coverage (“Home insurance providers backing out of Summit County due to wildfire risk”). While it’s unusual for seasoned doctors to advocate for substances once considered “fun drugs” and associated with rebellious youth, we have come to realize that, when used wisely, natural plant-medicines like psilocybin offer a promising alternative to conventional prescription drugs.
