Labor attacked the Liberals’ costings claim they can make use of the $2.2 billion promised by the prime minister for the rail loop, and said they also assumed more than $1.1 billion from the federal government for hospital projects. Treasurer Tim Pallas released Labor’s election costings for 81 commitments on Thursday, which total $11.9 billion, as he promised their plan was “fully costed, fully funded” with “no new or increased taxes” and would return a billion-dollar surplus by 2025-26.why the costings did not include any money for the suburban rail loop, Mr Pallas replied: “It’s already been funded,” he said. “The SRL was funded in the budget a couple of years ago.

Other major Labor promises – including $2.5 billion for redevelopment of the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Women’s Hospital and another $6.5 billion for removing 25 level crossings across Melbourne – are not part of the costings with Labor claiming they are already budgeted.Mr Davis claimed Labor was making a $3 billion raid on public service super and that there was over $4 billion of health and hospital promises that Labor has not included in their forward estimates.
