Nita Koom-Dadzie ran away with two gold medals in the 100 and 200 meter dash for the Lady Mustangs. Kingwood finished 1-2-3 in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs. Mary Van Dyke finished in first place followed by Jenna Carter and University of Houston signee Carly Ahrens in the 1,600-meter run.In the field events, Helen Chan took home the gold in the pole vault
“I think winning this district title proves that everything they do in practice matters,” Dye said. “The stuff that we’re doing works. We’re not just out there going through the motions at practice. They’re going hard every day we do stuff. We get stronger every day as a team. It doesn’t even feel real right now winning the district title. To win a district title in track is hard and especially in this district.
