A monkey who went missing after a car crash earlier this week was reunited with his family after being found by Lexington Police officials, the department said in a Facebook post.
Officers responded to a call about a missing capuchin monkey Tuesday after the primate had gotten loose following a crash on Interstate 75. Max, the pet of a family involved in the collision, was unable to be found after going missing, but police said his owners"never gave up hope of finding him." Their faith was rewarded two days later. Road workers working on the interstate found Max and reached out to police in Lexington for help, the post said. With the assistance of Lexington Fayette Animal Care and Control, they got in touch with Max's family and reunited them.
