College football fans will soon be able to catch the big game on the big screen in Katy. Cinemark Theaters and ESPN have teamed up to bring college bowl games to select theaters across Texas, and the Katy Cinemark is among them.This postseason, football fans can catch the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and the College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T at select U.S.
Michigan will square off against TCU in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, according to ESPN. Immediately following, Georgia will take on Ohio State at 7 p.m. in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The winners of the two games will go head-to-head for the College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9. All showings will include ESPN’s live pre-game studio programming.
While tickets are technically free, sports fans wishing to see the game in the theater must reserve their seat by“Cinemark is thrilled to once again offer college football fans an opportunity to watch this year’s most anticipated games in our immersive, shared environment, especially given the enthusiasm we saw in our theaters last year,” said Wanda Gierhart Fearing, Cinemark chief marketing and content officer.
