Used DE TOMASO PANTERA V8 5.7 LITRE CLEVELAND 1974 for saleUsed DE TOMASO PANTERA V8 5.7 LITRE CLEVELAND 1974 for saleWe proudly present this Beautiful De-Tomaso Pantera, Finished in Rosso Red with Black Leather interior trim. Originally registered 1st January 1974. This car spent its early life in the USA before being bought to the UK in 2016. In the last few years this car has been owned by a local collector who we know well. The De Tomaso Pantera was a successful combination of Italian aesthetics with a big and easy to maintain Ford V8 engine and the proven German ZF transaxle. So successful in fact, the production of the Pantera lasted for over twenty years. The Pantera was designed by Tom Tjaarda (then working for Ghia) and became a design classic which still looks great today. The car debuted in Modena in March 1970 and was presented at the 1970 New York Motor Show a few weeks later. Approximately a year later the first production cars were sold, and production was increased to three per day. De Tomaso sold the rights to the Pantera to Ford, who were to distribute the cars in the United States, but Alejandro De Tomaso retained the rights to market the Pantera in Europe. By the time the Pantera reached production stage, the interior was in most respects well sorted. The first 1971 Pantera models were powered by a 5.8 Litre Ford Cleveland V8 engine having a power output of 330 bhp. The high torque provided by the Ford engine reduced the need for excessive gear changing at low speeds, this made the car much less demanding to drive in urban conditions than many. The ZF transaxle used in the Mangusta was also used for the Pantera, disc brakes all round and rack and pinion steering were all standard equipment on the Pantera. The Pantera can accelerate to from 0- 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. The Ford V8 engine produces an amazing sound - even at idle. A Pantera is quite an easy car to drive and the driving posi
