On May 22 Bo Coburn, the director and storyboard artist for the award-winning series, shared a screenshot of a recent scene from the show on Instagram Stories.
“I still can’t believe that Dana let me get away with this, but I’ll always be grateful,” Bo continued, referencingcreator and showrunner Dana Terrace. “Got to put in some of my favorite artists and represent the music and culture a tiny bit.” And just so there was no ambiguity on which K-pop artists inspired the four characters, Bo tagged Jungkook,
from SHINee, Jessi, and GD from Big Bang. Each animated K-pop idol wears a signature look, with Jungkook sporting his purple hair from the “Butter” promotion era.
