In owning the boards to the tune of a 34-20 count and Ryan Clemons savoring the unsung hero tag by scoring 12 points over the final eight minutes, Deer Park handed Pasadena its first defeat in a month or not since the McDonald's Texas Invitational. Deer Park shot 76 percent from the foul line on 16-of-21 attempts, but more importantly, they were 8-of-10 for 80 percent in the fourth period.
Josh Anderson and Clemons shared high point honors with 14 points each. Nicholas Buffalo followed with 11 points but he was tops for the Deer in rebounding with nine.
