While there are no moral victories in the NFL, the Texans earned a “morale” W on Sunday with a spirited effort against the Cowboys, so let’s grade on a curve. For a one-win team, beaten down by a fruitless season, to show up at AT&T Stadium as much as 17½-point underdogs and almost come out on top, was impressive.
In the end, though, they were the Texans. The game was there to be had, but this team wasn’t good enough to take it. They were like bumbling crooks who got away with robbing a bank, then ran out of gas down the street … in front of the police station.Quarterback The QB position went from terrible to more terrible when Davis Mills was benched for Kyle Allen. Well, terrible was back and he was not terrible today. Better yet, the Texans utilized Jeff Driskel for the first time since Week 2, and he was a difference maker. It started with the Texans running him out of the zone read . Then he shocked us with some passing, highlighted by a 28-yard touchdown pass to Amari Rodgers.
