A high-octane trailer teases the upcoming Bollywood action thriller Jawan, which stars Indian screen icon Shah Rukh Khan and premieres in September.
The action-packed trailer for Jawan teases the latest epic blockbuster from India. The Bollywood action-musical, whose title translates to Warrior, is coming to theaters on September 7. Starring Indian screen legend Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, Jawan follows a man who is committed to the pursuit of justice squaring off against a notorious criminal.
The high-octane trailer for Jawan has now been released by Red Chillies Entertainment. The trailer, which also features Khan's co-stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Deepika Padukone, is jam-packed with high-octane action moments.
Shah Rukh Khan Is Embracing His Modern Action Icon Status Shah Rukh Khan isn't exactly a stranger to action movies or villainous roles. In fact, his career in movies kicked off with playing antagonists in titles such as 1993's Baazigar. However, he is primarily known for his huge run of successful romantic films including 1997's Dil To Pagal Hai, 2001's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., 2003's Kal Ho Naa Ho, and 2006's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
With Jawan, it seems that Khan is embracing the Pathaan box office success as a turning point for his career. In addition to embracing his status as an action lead, he is already playing with audience perceptions by embracing this darker role. If his new movie has even a fraction of the success of Pathaan, this could kick off an action-packed second act very similar to Liam Neeson's recent run of action films in the West.
