As DC hunts for their Superman: Legacy lead, co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn has revealed what he's looking for in the next Superman.
is currently looking at a number of people, but in the end, the character has to embody the “humanity” and “kindness and compassion” that the Man of Steel has.
“It’s hard, but we’re looking,” said Gunn of finding the next Superman. “And we actually have some really great choices, which I’m excited about it. But it has to be somebody who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has, and it has to be somebody who you want to give a hug.”
Gunn went on to note that “all the Supermen have been good” and that their job now is to just add to that legacy.
