Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña, who is set to play Jaime Reyes in the new DC Universe movie Blue Beetle, praises the hero's super suit and its CGI.
Xolo Maridueña opens up about the Blue Beetle movie costume, as he talks about the impressive CGI for Jaime Reyes' super suit. While the DCEU is ending, there is one DC film in 2023 that is actually factoring into James Gunn's DC Universe, which is Blue Beetle. Starring Maridueña as the titular hero, Blue Beetle is is considered the first hero for the new DC Universe, which will start in earnest with Superman: Legacy in 2025.

In an interview with Empire Online, the Cobra Kai star praised the work that went into Blue Beetle's highly-advanced costume.
The suit is just incredible. It’s the coolest suit there is. After watching the movie and seeing the CGI, I was like, ‘Alright, now it’s set in stone. It’s the coolest suit.’Why Blue Beetle's Super Suit CGI Is So Important Even though CGI for any major motion picture is important, it is more crucial than ever for DC Studios, especially with Blue Beetle being a soft start to the new DC Universe.
From the way some of the action set pieces looked to the controversial multiverse cameos that were done mostly in CGI, hearing Maridueña's praise for the Blue Beetle costume couldn't come at a better time. If the CGI continues to look disastrous before they even get to Superman: Legacy, it will not help the DC Universe's reputation.
Based on the first Blue Beetle movie trailer, the super suit already looks phenomenal in action, most likely because the costume was produced practically and added with CGI. It will be interesting to see the movie in its entirety and how the finished CGI is received by the public. Hopefully, with the film's release approaching, DC Studios will debut one final Blue Beetle trailer as the DC Universe era begins in August.
