U.S. Attorney General honors Irving officers who rescued parents from icy pond
An Irving family ventured onto an ice-covered pond in February to take some photographs.Irving police officers Travis Allen and Brendan Fowler, who responded to the scene, helped rescue the parents, according to a release from the Irving Police Department.
When Fowler arrived at the pond, he threw a rope with a flotation device to the parents and told them to wrap it around themselves. Allen arrived soon after, and the two began making a plan.
