Authorities are investigating the recent death of an inmate at the Weber County jail.
On Friday at about 5:45 p.m., the inmate — whose name has not been released — was found “unresponsive” in a cell, according to a new release from the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. The inmate is believed to have suffered a “medical episode that was not self-inflicted.”
No other information was released. The Weber County Attorney’s Office is leading the investigation into the death.• On June 28, another “medical episode” ended in the death of an inmate who was being held at a longterm health care facility. The inmate died of natural causes, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
• On April 29, another inmate was found “unresponsive” in a cell. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
