Hyundai's newest Santa Fe goes boxy.
Hyundai has sold 100,000 Santa Fe crossovers in the U.S. every year since 2014, all in a rounded shape typical of the modern mid-size not-quite-an-SUV. For 2024, Hyundai is moving away from that idea entirely. Meet the new Santa Fe, made up entirely of angles and aggressive lines.
While the transformation may be a major change for the Santa Fe line, it is in line with a segment-wide move to make the modern crossover look more capable. In a world where CX-5s are, Hyundai's latest Santa Fe is just the most rugged-looking in a field of mass-market cars racing to look more and more like SUVs of the past.
Pricing levels, performance specifications, and dimensions—including the all-important approach, breakover, and departure angles that would show if this crossover is actually ready to go far off the beaten path—for the latest Santa Fe have not been shared yet. Hyundai says the car will get a full premiere on its YouTube channel next month.
