Hurricane Idalia has canceled travel plans for IMG Academy.
Thompson’s game with national power IMG Academy on Thursday in Alabaster has been canceled due to Hurricane Idalia.
Idalia was a Category 1 hurricane on Tuesday and is expected to strengthen to a Category 3 storm with winds up to 120 mph in the next 24 hours,According to an email from Thompson athletic director Vincent Pitts, the Warriors and IMG made the joint decision to cancel the game in the interest of the safety of IMG players, employees and their families with travel expected to be limited in and out of the Tampa area in the coming days.
