Sizing up UH's running back situation after addition of Tony Mathis Jr.

He cracked the two-deep for first time and finished with 501 yards, second only to quarterback Clayton Tune, and tied with a team-high five touchdowns. Most of his production came in the second half of the season as Sneed averaged 93.5 yards in four of the final six games.A former USC transfer, Campbell was second on the team with 90 rushing attempts over 10 games.

He was bothered by injuries throughout the season and underwent shoulder surgery that kept him out of spring practice.Mathis was a must-have for coach Dana Holgorsen this offseason after the abrupt departure of Alton McCaskill IV. Not only does Mathis bring Big 12 experience, he was West Virginia’s leading rusher with 562 yards and five touchdowns. He is a familiar name to Holgorsen, who recruited Mathis before leaving the Mountaineers in 2018.
