Wildfires continue to engulf much of Canada, making this the nation’s most disastrous wildfire season in terms of acreage burned. It has again sent plumes of thick smoke over vast distances, this time stretching from the Great Lakes to the East Coast.
Doug Gillham, a meteorologist and manager at the forecast center for Canada’s Weather Network, has previously predicted that the smoke that caused record-low air quality levels in early June wouldn’t be the last round to afflict the East Coast. He was right.
