All the skyscrapers in Houston stacked up would rise higher than Mt. Everest, earning Houston the 'Tallest City in Texas' title, according to a new study by Texas Real Estate Source.
Starwood Land and Land Tejas are teaming up to bring a new community to Beasley, Texas near Rosenberg in southwest Fort Bend County. Pictured is the area where the master-planned community is proposed off Highway 59.If you stacked up all the skyscrapers in Houston, they'd rise more than 1,000 feet higher than Mount Everest.
The tallest under construction is Waterline, which, at 1,022 feet tall, will rise 74 stories with office, apartment and retail space in a booming area of downtown Austin near the Rainey Street district. It would overtake downtown Houston's JPMorgan Chase Tower, the longstanding tallest in Texas at 1,002 feet.
Most of Houston's tallest buildings joined the skyline in the 1980s, including Chase Tower at 75 stories, Wells Fargo Plaza at 71 stories and Williams Tower at 64 stories. Economics dictate that today's skyscrapers aren't as lofty. Texas Tower, completed by Hines and Ivanhoe Cambridge in 2021, is 47 stories tall. Skanska USA's 1550 on the Green under construction near Discovery Green park rises 28 stories.

Provident Realty Advisors broke ground on Port 99, a distribution center totaling 1.28 million square feet at 16702 FM 2354 Road in Baytown. Lee & Associates - Houston is handling leasing.“Well located near the Port of Houston shipping terminals, rail, and major freeways spanning coast-to-coast, Port 99 offers immediate access to one of the fastest growing mega regions in the country,” Tunnell said in an announcement.
