Houston's PGA event makes move to March in 2024
The Houston Open is returning to a spring date in March 2024 as part of the PGA Tour schedule.
The 72-hole tournament will run March 28-31 at Memorial Park Golf Course. The Astros Golf Foundation, which conducts the Houston Open, has reached an extension that will have the PGA stop at Memorial through 2028.Houston is taking Austin’s spot on the PGA Tour schedule, replacing the WGG-Dell Technologies Match Play event that had been played in late March at the Austin Country Club since 2016.
Recently, Houston was not listed on the preliminary fall schedule that had been shown to players because tournament organizers did not want to hold two events within a span of what could be five months, assuming the Houston Open joined the main schedule. The Astros Golf Foundation took over the Houston event from the Houston Golf Association in 2019 and, after one more year at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, moved the tournament to Memorial Park Golf Course.
