Hong Kong's leader warned the city will ban marine products from “a large number” of prefectures if Japan discharges treated radioactive wastewater from its damaged nuclear plant into the sea. The UN nuclear agency endorsed the Japanese plan last week.

The Hong Kong government will formulate policies in response to Japan’s plans, Lee said Tuesday, and they will be announced when ready.In the semi-autonomous southern Chinese city, the import of certain products — such as fruits and vegetables — from Fukushima is currently banned. Other products such as meat and poultry from there are allowed in if they come with a radiation certificate.
