Homicide investigation underway after 1 person fatally shot in East County home [Breaking]
A person was found fatally shot inside a home in Harbison Canyon early Thursday and a homicide investigation was underway, a sheriff’s official said.
Someone called 911 shortly after 1:50 a.m. to report a shooting on Renfro Way near Silverbrook Drive, south of Harbison Canyon Road, said sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Carpenter. When deputies arrived they found at least one person dead inside the home, where a large party was taking place, Carpenter said. He did not know if there were any other victims.Carpenter said a number of deputies were sent to the home, which is located at the end of a long driveway. “A lot of witnesses were trying to leave,” he said. “ had to hike up to the house.”Homicide detectives were sent to the scene. No other information was immediately released.
